OKOO REFRESH
OKOO REFRESH
Five years after the launch of Okoo’s brand, Gédéon worked again to evolve its identity while keeping in touch with the fundamental brand codes.
It was important to emphasize Okoo’s eyes and to make the brand speak to kids of all ages.
Brand design
Graphic Animation
We added a cheeky smile to the original logo to give a face to the brand and we lightly retouched the eyes to make them come alive.
We created more digital feeling by using a screen shape which swipes through different facial expressions and emotions of the brand.
We changed the animation of the logo in order to transform the letter K into a helpful cursor. This strong symbol/icon guides the eyes of kids watching, stimulates their attention and invites them into Okoo’s world.
In addition to Okoo’s fresh face we introduced a hand to add a human touch and to reflect the action of scrolling, swiping and choosing content.
Animated together, the eyes, the smile and the hand give a dynamic and interactive personality to the brand. introducing a hand to speak in an interactive way.
To give the brand a more grown up feeling we introduced also a bolder outline into the design.
This new introduction principle enables editorialisation without relying on text. All children understand the idea of the morning thanks to the alarm clock. We imagined facial animations that are more cheeky, funny and dynamic. We also created a calmer and softer ambiance for the younger ones.
We propose framing the Okoo logo and placing the .tv on top in a simple but readable ‘endorsement’ of the brand.
The playful and fun spirit of this refresh is present even in the corporate association of the two brands, thanks to the play on the Okoo logo which is bitten by the dot of the .tv logo.
The new graphic principle makes the modules for redirecting to digital content more didactic and concrete for children.
The colour palette now combines all the current Kids and Preschool palettes. We can now mix all the colours, as opposed to the colour duos used today.
