    Discovery+ Marketing Campaign

    After Discovery+ acquired Eurosport, they approached us to collaborate on a marketing campaign by producing a film. Additionally, they asked Gédéon to adapt their key art guidelines to suit the unique nature of sports.

    The request was to integrate the Discovery+ DNA into the particular identity of each sporting event, with key art in different formats to be displayed on the D+ platform and its social media.

    The challenge, however, was to create branded visuals that reflected the overall identity of Discovery+ while respecting the identity of individual and emblematic sports events.

    We wrote the script, the voice over and we did the editing of the film.

    While maintaining the core spirit of Discovery+, we created a variety of animations (typographical animations, wipes) adapted to the sports theme that can be used in their future communication elements (on Instagram, in films, etc.)

    We also adapted this longer film to a shorter 15-second version, adapted to all platforms and, therefore, to all screen sizes.

    To strike the balance, we also produced a set of guidelines providing them with the tools to quickly produce new key arts, branded but simultaneously creative. The choice of image is based on what they want to showcase: the most popular athletes (with split screens), beautiful landscapes (with plain images), or famous vehicles.

    The Discovery+ team can then play with the color treatment: natural colors, duotone with the specific color(s) of the event.

    For the logos, we recommended two options: if the logo of the event is well-known and legible enough they can display it. Alternatively, they can create a customized logo with the Discovery+ typeface, adding a visual trick, a texture or a color to recall the identity of the sporting event.
