    Cinéma de Minuit

After 48 years, it was time to reinvent the branding of the iconic Cinéma de Minuit, a program dedicated to showcasing legendary films from the 1920s to the 1970s.

More than just a logo and a new opener, the new visual identity was envisioned as a label— that could be used across various communication channels (social media posts, france.tv platform, posters…).

This approach aimed to bring a fresh, contemporary vision while also preserving the timeless style and graphic design associated with the 1920s to 1970s. The goal was to create a premium signature that would define the collection.

Finally, the animation of light beams offers a subtle nod to the diverse genres of classic cinema.

To maintain a strong link with the cinephile audience that has cherished this program for decades, we decided to keep the iconic music of the program composed by Francis Lai, the French author of many renowned film scores. This music has been remixed into a new version to give it a fresh feel, with a more dynamic and engaging rhythm while staying true to the original melody. We also added voice samples extracted from classic films to enhance the emotional impact of this soundtrack even further.
